HEY ALl how are you?
i´m doing well and it´s so nice to read all of the emails. the apartment is
small but it works for just me and my companion. the food is amazing i
was kinda hesitent of eating some of it because of the way it looked but i have
found that the worse it looks the better it tastes. on tuesday we ate
some type of soup that did not look so good but i didnt want them to feel bad
so i ate it and it was amazing! i dont remember what i had on wednesday butthursday we
had stuffed green chilles that didnt look to scrumpshis but that was probally
the best food had all week. on friday through saturday we
had chicken with rice. we have tortillas with every meal. if someone doesn´t
have them it´s like they forget how to eat it´s crazy. i sit in every meal dead
quiet trying to learn spanish. when they ask me personally a question i look at
my companion and he usally does his best to answer for me.same thing with
lessons we teach. but yesterday i didn´t because there is a hermano in my ward
that speaks ENGLISH it was so nice to finaly understand what people are saying.
i asked him if i could pay him to follow me around and translate. he said
"no you need to let the lord be your transltor" and eversince i have
always prayed to have the lord help me with the gift of tounges in lessons and
i have learned so much more. today we had little caesars pizza and we went to
the beach. i have pictures ill show you guys of my
comapion and I, I can´t really comunicate that well because he doesn´t speak english and
i can´t speak spanish but i am learning more and more everyday. i have gotten
use to the heat now. and i lost some weight. when i left the mtc i could bearly
fit in to my belt now i need to use the second hole in the belt. it´s
crazy. our ward is amazing we have 30 or so active members and even more
that are either inacitve or nonmembers. the obispo is amazing and wants to help
us the best he can. that´s so cool what tance and sawyer and xotchil did. i
want to hear all the stories tell them to email me and i will read them next week.
in mexico you dont knock on peoples doors you yell "buenas tardes!" so we came up to a
mans house and yelled buenas tardes! we talked to him and as it turns out
he was taking the lessons from the other missionaries before they we
transfered. we taught him the second lesson and committed him to be baptized he
said yes and we have a date of sept 14 i hope and pray that he keeps
the commit. i feel like he will because he seemed really happen when he went to
church with us yesterday. well that´s all i got. until next time
LOVE
ELDER ALLSUP
