Dec 16, 2013

Well let’s see this week was good and bad. This week I really struggled to keep thoughts of home out of my head. I think it’s the Christmas season because lots of other elders are suffering from it too. Here in the mission we call it ‘’being trunkie’’.  But I have also seen that my Spanish is improving a hundred fold and that my teachings are getting much better as well. We had a lesson with Gema yesterday and this lesson was by far the best that I think that I have ever had. We taught her the Plan of Salvation. Oh my gosh that word looks wrong. Goes to show you how my Spanish is coming along right? haha and today when I read Quynn’s email in Spanish I didn’t have to use google translate! I felt legit. Let’s see what else happened this week? That’s about it. I will skype you guys at 11am my time so that means 10 am your time. I hope that is ok because it is what out zone leaders assigned us. I’m so sorry to hear about Amy but I know that she is in a better place seeking help from heavenly father. I’m so glad that I know this gospel and that I know we can see our family and friends again after this life. That’s great to hear about Papa. I was a little worried this whole week about him. He was in my prayers. As is the whole family. Tell Tara I love her and would love to talk with her at Christmas! I love you guys and can’t wait to skype on Christmas day!

December 12, 2013

I also had to buy a sweater be cause it got

really cold this week!! and i mean cold!!! i'm pretty sure that if were to have rained it would have snowed.
hey everyone,
So this week was transfers. I didn't get transfered but my compaion is the new distirct leader. i'm super pumped for him. let's see what happened this week. nothing much really same old same old. we taught people and people aren't really progressing. But i have found that my spanish isn't where it needs to be. i'm going to change that and everyday i'm going to spanish a lot harder. but with that being said i can still understand and i can talk in our lessons some what. I really don't know what else to talk about. I'm super excited to talk to everyone on christmas. i don't know what time i will call but it will be before 4. I think that we will call on the phone before we call on skype just to make sure you guys are on. I'm sorry to hear about papa. tell him he is in my prayers and that i love him. If there is anything i can do to help let me know. I have yet to take pictures of my food because our mission president's wife asked us not take our cameras around with us. I don't know why but i will obey it. so today I will take a picture of our food and send it next week. Thank you so much for the food i was a huge up lifter when i needed. I've heard that this season is the hardest on the missionaries because of all the traditions that they are missing. but that's ok because the food came when i needed it the most. the thing about sending packages is that it might get here in mexico in 2 weeks. but if it's after the last week of the month i have to wait until our zone leaders go down to get it. so it's best to send the package and the beging of the week. I love you all and thanks for all the prayers and support. I can feel them every day. stay safe and stay warm ;)

December 2, 2013

HEy everyone how was your week? mine was amazing! i don't even know where to start. Lets see on Tuesday we had divisiones again and this time it was with the zone leaders. I was with Elder Olsen. It was amazing we taught lots of people and we spoke nothing but spanish and i really feel like my spanish was increased that day. everytime i went to go speak in english he would inturrept me and say spanish elder spanish. it was awesome. it really made me see how much spanish i really know. and on that day we had a lesson with one of our less active members. we started talking about the attoment of christ and after she some how got in the bible and starting reading out of salms. we didn't know what the heck was going on. after the first one we said oh that's great hermana and then she countines to read 3 more. at the end of the second one me and Elder Olsen lost it. we busted out laughing but she either didn't hear us or just choose to ignore us and countined to read salms. we quickly appoligized and got back into the lesson. it was a great lesson. then on friday we had a lesson with one of our investigators whose batusimal date fell through because she hasn't gone to church since we started to teach her. but our lesson this day was amazing! we watched a short video about the great apostitsy and i really felt the spirit and i know she did too. i was able to speak and understand everything that was said and i really haven't felt like that in my whole mission. then yesterday we had a lesson with our less active memeber named gregoria that lesson was amazing! she started this lesson with her blaming all her problems on the church and why she doesn't go is because this person does this and that person does that. i was upset but i know the spirit was there because once again i was able to understand and speak. I know that the lord put words in my mouth. i said to her that the church is true but the people aren't. that made her go really quiet. she loves to talk and try to get us off subject but we didn't let her do it this time. it was an amazing week. well that's all for this week thank you all for writting me and letting me know that you havent forgotten me yet.

November 25, 2013

Hello everyone!

Yes mom we have humidity down here and yes it's getting cooler. the past couple of days it's been so cold that i had to use a sweater from one of the memembers until i can get a hold of some money to buy one. speaking of money i had to pull some money out of my visa because we needed to go down to a training in tampico and we had to buy our tickets but don't worry the mission will pay us back.

ok lets see what happened this week? we had the bautismal of Isaias. and after we went to teach him and i didn't struggle with my spanish like i usally do it was amazing!ª

lets see what else happened? it was really super cold this week. for the first time ever elder Puello got mad at me. and it was because i should have been helping him when i didn't. that was a mistake. i was scared for my life. then when we went to go find one of my contacts 10 dogs encircled me and one of them almost bit me. well he did bite me he nipped my leg. elder Puello was laughing so hard. the whole time he was trying to worne me but i wasn't pàying attention so it's my own fault. but that's ok. and that's pretty much all that happened this week. i love you all and ill talk to you next week. alright so i would send pictuers but my computer is being stupid so i will send them next week.

November 18, 2013

Hey everyone,
the food i eat is a lot like quynns lots of meat and tortillas. i don't have pictures of it this week but next week for sure.
So this week was a hard week and a easy week at the same time. And i got a lot of diffrent answers that i really needed. The first was when i decieded to fast for the first time in my life other then fast sundays. it was amazing. So the reason why i was fasting was because lately i have been doubting my testimony and i don't know why. (that was the hard part and we haven't had a lot of citas follow through that had been really hard for me.) then my answer came yesterday. as it turns out i have had a strong testimony all long. i just had to go searching for it. and the way i had to search for it was fasting. The second reason why i was fasting was i want to know why we aren't having much success here. becuase before me elder Puello said that the minimual that they would have is 3 citas a day. and that is what we are getting at the maxium. so i think that is me. so i'm going to fast again to try and find the answer bewcasue toda villa i haven't found it out yet. but i know that if i keep trying the lord will give me the answer.

Lets see what else happened this week? oh we went on exchanges will our district leader again and this time i was with his companion who is also from utah and is also in love with texas. dont worry i have pictures. we spoke a lot of english and he also helped me with my spanish. I can understand 99% of our convesations but i can only speak like 60% of the time because i still lack a lot but i know that it will come as i rely on the lord in todo aspectos (in all aspects). holy crap my spanish is kicking in! i wrote that last part with out even thinking about it. well that's pretty much all that happened this week. so until next week

Nove 11

Hey everyone how's life? it's really amazing down here in mexico.

SO this week was amazing! Spanish has finally kicked in and i can talk more fluently and understnad 10 times better. I understand every sentence. not every word but every sentence. Which means that i am able to talk in our lessons and the spirit is 10 stronger. We taught one of our investigators this week. Her name is Gema (it's said like Hema) she is made of gold! We gave her a chapter to read in the book of mormon and she complained that it wasn't long enough. She attended church yesterday and she has a bautismal date ofDEC 28Th. I'm so pumped. And in this lesson we were talking about the importance of the book of mormon. at the very end it came my turn to bare my testimony about it. The spirit was so strong that i was about to cry. and then our phone rang which distracted me and i was able to gather my self back up again. I also went on exchanges with our District leader on wednesday. It was awesome. OTher then i fell asleep during one of our lessons. but we were watching a movie
and i woke up just as it ended. luckly i have seen the movie a lot and i was able to bare my testimony and end the lesson. then on thursday morning I worked out with our district leader. that was a mistake. I'm still sore! but that's ok because i know it's making me stronger. It is now a rule in our district that we need to work our everyday. and i have made it a rule in my life. so when i come home i will have a 6 pack. hopefully. Well that's all the big things that happened this week. I love you all and i can't wait to hear stories from you guys

11/4/13

hey everyone back home!!!

that is so cool that you guys are going to pick up quynn. I wish i could go but i have to live my own misión. it is really fun here in mante and it is really quiet too. I can't believe how fast time is flying. tomorrow I will start the 4th month of me being in mexico! and that means that i have 5 months in my misión. I can't believe it. so this week we taught our investigator Isaías and he is really excited for his baptism on the 23rd of NOV. And we have a new investigator her name is Mari. She seems really excited to learn the góspel to apply it to her life. We were going to teach her yesterday but i got sick yet again. which is really starting to tick me off because i really am starting to enjoy doing missionary work. I really tried yesterday to work but i couldn't really move. so I was only able to go to church and then we had to come home and we just studied the scriptures all day and watched church movies. Don't worry this week i have my cable and i will able to send pictures. I have come to find out that my last compaion didn't help me with my spanish worth Jack. here in mante however my compaion Elder Puello is helping me a lot. It's nice. I'm starting to talk more in lessons and i'm learning a lot of spanish. so on fridaywe ordered pizza and you will never guess what they put on it. HOT DOGS!!!! :P

Who the heck puts hotdogs on a pizza!!!!! i could only eat 2 slices.(for those of you who don't get the refrence ask my family and they can tell you.) That is pretty much all that happened this week. So yeah I love you all and can't wait to hear of the adventure in Argentina.

10/29/13

hello everyone back home and all those that i send this email to.

This week was amazing. it was my last week with elder Marin my trainer and it was by far the best week we have had. I got transfered to a town called Mante. My new area is Monterrey 2. it's my second day here and the weather is a lot like Utah. except imagen utah on it's hottest day and that's what it's like here all the time. but that is ok because i'm out of the humidty. We taught an investigator this morning and he has a bautismal date for the 22 of NOV.I'm so excited. I have pictures but i forgot to grab my cable so i will send them next week. My house is bigger then the one in Nuevo Progreso. and it has carpet in our room!! which is odd because no house here in mexico has carpet. My new companion is Elder Puello. It's pronuced like pollo(chicken) put with just a slight diffrence. He is from the Dominican Republic and he speaks english. a lot of english. infact he is pretty much fluent. the first time i saw him i thought that he was from the states. and that he was black. i will show you pictures next week. that is pretty much it. i can't really think of anything else. oh I went to the temple on saturday with some of my investigators from Tampico and it was such an amazing experinece. I love you all and i love getting emails and letters.
until next week

10/21/13

hello everyone back home!!!

This week was both really good and really bad! so im going to tell the bad news for just so that the good news sounds better.

1 i lost my debit card. (but don't worry i found it and i will tell the story. it was a huge testimony builder for me.) (holy crap my spanish is kicking in because i don't know how to spell english words anymore.)
2 i learned a lot of rules that my companion didn't tell me about and the zone leaders were ticked at us.
3. Me and my companion got into a huge fight( but we are all better now.)
4. we had a little bit of success and a lot of success it's hard to explain but i will do my best.

ok so the story about my debit card. so monday i went to go check to see if i had some money on my card in the atm. when i was done i put my card back in my wallet and left. so on friday at our comida(meal) we at with a memeber that live right next to a bank. so Elder Marin decides that he wants to check his card once more. so i decied heck why not ill check mine too. i went to pull out my card and it wasn't there. i was ticked!!! so when we got home on friday night we ranscaked the house looking for it. it wasn't there. so i was about to email back home today to have you send me a new one. but as we were walking to the church when we were passing soriana (the convient store right next to our house) i got a feeling to ask if it was there. i shrugged it off and said it wouldn't be there. that happened 2 more times. one the third time i turned to my companion and said:
Allsup: ´´hey tengo un sentimiento que mi tarjeta esta en soriana.´´ (i have a feeling my card is in soriana)
Marin: ´´bueno vamos´´ (ok lets go)
the whole time i was asking heavenly father to have it be there or to have mom be understanding about the situation. so we went in and they had it. they said that i had left it in the atm and walked away. i was so happy and i feel so blessed to know that i am worthy to have the spirit in my life to direct me where to go.

2. so there were a whole punch of rules that i didn't know about that when me and the zone leaders went on exchanges got upset that i wasn't following. but the reason why he was upest was because he thought that i knew about those rules. but when in all reality i didn't know and it was my compaions fault. so he chewed him out pretty good. and the reason why we got in a huge fight is because of what happened with the zone leaders. but on thursday after our weekly planning session we talked about it and we are the best we have ever been.

4. ok so on monday through thrusday we had terrible numbers. we taught hardly anyone and our one of our investigators went and moved and no one knows where to or even how to get a hold of her. so we are devistated about that. but on friday all of our citas (appointments) followed through and we were on fire. and saturday and sunday our numbers fell through again. i was ticked about all those day except friday. anyway that is how we had success and didn't have success.

so saturday it rained really hard and i didn't have my umbrella (don't worry i have pictures) but i found out that my backpack is waterproof! so that's good. but none of our citas followed through. but it's ok i had fun in the rain. well that's all for this week love you all!

hey everyone,
No mom i didn't know the missionary that passed away. he was the generation after i was. but the mission priesident said that he was a great missionary and was full of the spirit.
This week was amazing! I really feel like i can understand spanish now. but speaking is a whole diffrent story. but little by little i am getting it. We taught our investigator Sara and her 3 kids Joesph, Lizeth, and Rumulo. (the names are prounced without the H) any way it was an amazing experince. i really understood what was going on and i was able to put in my input when the time came for me to talk. and after the lesson i didn't know a word i said. i know that the spirit was there and put the words in my mouth. we also got a new investigator HNA Ana. please pray for here because we know how much this gospel can help her. she seems intersted in the church and we can't wait for her to assist this sunday. please pray for our 2 investigators who we haven't taught in 2 weeks because they cancel at the last moment for who knows what reason. their names are Lilian Rojas and Martin Savee. We need and want them in this church because we know how much it can bless their lives. yesterday we ran in to 2 drunks on the street. it was funny because they wanted to learn about the gospel and as soon as they saw us coming over to talk to them they hucked their beers into the street and tried to pretend they weren't drinking i was laughing so hard after we had walked away from them. we are about to end this transfer in 2 weeks. me and my zone think that i will get transfered. the reason why is because my companion goes home in 8 weeks. so we all think he will stay and i will go. i have also started a work out that i do everyother day. i never knew that working out could be so fun. it consits of doing as many push ups as i can to start. (which is 10) then doinmg 20 sit ups. then doing 1 minutie of bicycles. i don't know how to describe them so next week i will have pictures of each work out. then i do 1 min worht of jump jackings and then end with 10 more push ups. my compaion tried to do my work out and died. i laughed so hard. but i do my best to stay healthy and i love doing it. i just wish i would have done it back home.
well that's it for this wek i love you and love hearing from you.

10/8/13
Hello todas de me familia y amigos,
mom, i had to use my credit card to go to the doctors and if i did my math right there should only be 30 or 35 dollars missing.
Yes maam i got your packages. it took about 3 weeks but i did get it. And i was able to watch conference in english. the zone leaders said that all the americans can go into the high counsel room and watch it. it was awesome because we had nice office chairs instead of benches. we had so much food and we were fed spiturally by the holy ghost. I was so amazed of how it seemed like every talk was meant just for me and that i was standing one on one with the speakers. I took so much out of conference and im excited to put it in to practice. our memebers in this ward really needed to hear the talks because they have a hard time coming to church and helping us out with missionary work. it's so fraustrating. but i think that these messages really knocked into their skulls. but only time will tell. and our investigators were there and the mom of one of the familys said that she knows this church is true and she has only been an investagator for 2 weeks. its amazing to see the lord work inmy life and in our investagators lives. That is so cool that you guys got new dogs. what are their names and what kind of dogs are they? i love you all and i love recieving your emails.

love elder allsup

hey mom we are going to a flea market next week for our pday and i was hoping that you would put some more money on my card. I love you and thanks for all the hard work you and dad put in so that you can support me on my mission. i will never forget how hard you guys work and you are such big examples to me. I love you and love seeing you guys smile. i love all the pictures and i will do my best to take more. its kinda hard when you are walking dead tired in to your house at 9 and you just want to sleep. but i will do my best. and I lost 50 lbs since entering the mtc.so it's not getting cold and i have been told that it wont get cold (to utah standards) but it is funny because the natives are wrapped up in the big coats and big pants because they think it's cold.

8/30/13

hey everyone
so an average day here in mexico for my mission is
1 wake up at 630
2 get ready for the day and eat breakfast.
3. at 8 we start our personal study}
4. at 9 to 11 is compaionship study were we use a book called the first 12 weeks.
5. at 11 to 12 is language study.
6. from 12 to 2 we have sitas (appoitentments)
7. 2 to 330 is our comida(food) where we eat with members
8. and then we work until 9 (finding investigators, fulfilling sitas. etc)
9. 9 to 930 is planning
10. 930 to 1030 is time to do whatever. (we are usally so tired that we are asleep by 10)
so that is an average day. it's fun but a lot of work!
hey thanks for all the letters and all the emails. it's amazing to see that all the people back home haven't forgot about me yet. i found out that i have lost 50 LBS!! i was so pumped when i found this out. this week was a tough week. i feel like i didn't understand spanish. i just want to be fluent but i know that the lord isn't going to just give me the gift of tounges i will have to work for it. and work for it i will. this week we challenged 4 of our investigators to a bautismal date. they accepted and it's for the 2nd of nov. i'm so happy and can't wait to see them devlop in the church. we found out that our ward just fights with one another and that is why we don't have a lot of people show up. it's so upsetting and we have talked to the bishop, the stake preisident and we are going to talk to the mission president to see what we can do. and on friday on saturday we were on divisions again and we didn't teach a sould because no one was home. but it was still a lot of fun, well that's all for this week so you next week. love you all

Sept 23 2013

hey everyone not a whole lot has happened since i wrote you on wednesdaybut a few great things did happen. On saturday night we ran in to an old investigator and she has deciced that her and her family (3 kids) are ready to hear the evangelio (gospel) once again. it's amazing to see the lords hand in my life and the life of those we teach. we invited them to come to church with us and to our surprise they said YES! i was so happy.  so last night (sunday) we taught her family most of the first lesson. they have a lot of questions and we need to take it slow so that we know they are ready to recieve the evangelio. it was an amazing feeling being able to understand most of their questions and being able to reply to most of them as well. I know that it was possible because the spirit of the lord was there and he put the words that i needed to say into my mouth. it's amazing the things the lord will do when you are worthy. I feel like i'm learning the lanugage more and more each day. And i have almost finished the book of mormon for the first time in my life! I can't believe that i have never read it before. i wonder how i could have been so ignoraent and not have read it. for my language study i have been reading the book of mormon in spanish and that has really been helping my spanish too. it's crazy how much the lord is willing to bless you once you buckle down and start to do the things he asked. well that's all for this week. love you guys.

Sept 18, 2013

Sept 18,
hey everyone so the reason why i'm writting so late is because our day of prepartion got changed to wednesday because of a hurrincane that hit on monday. no damage was done to our area or even tampico the city. other then lost of rain we are all good. our front room in our house leeks water all of the ground and when we woke up monday morning there was probally a foot of water on the ground. but before i could get a picture elder marin had it all cleaned up. he is so good about keeping the house clean and he is really teaching me a lot. my spanish is coming faster then i thought. i feel like i can really understand what's going on in lessons now and i feel like i can somewhat communicate with the people of mexico sin (without) (sorry my spanish is kicking in and my zone leader told me that is a good sign.) looking at my compaion for help.
so we had Israel's baptism and i have pictures. it was amazing. in 6 weeks i have my first baptism. and we taught him all the lessons. my zone leader said that rarely happens here in mexico so i feel good. yesterday i was sick and my compaion wouldn't let me leave the house. i was dying to go out and teach but he said that it's better to be safe and wait for you to be healthy then go out in the rain and get even more sick. but that is pretty much it for this week. so here are the pictures.

1.  is the water in the streets on monday
2.  is me and elder marin in the back of truck while we were on our way to clean  the font for the baptism.
3.  is me cleaning the font.

Sept 9, 2013

Sept. 9
hola toda la gente de mi ciudad natal (home town),

how is every one and how is the weather? it has rained here nonstop for 4 days. it's crazy the sewers are over flowing and we really have to hide when a car passes by because if we don't we could get really sick. well this week a lot happened. on thursday we went to the insitute building aquí (here) (i am losing english words and replacing them with spanish words without even thinking about it. that's a good thing right?) anyway at the in tampico and we learned from the president of the mission and the assistance. it was a really good expericence for me and i'm glad i had the oportunidad. and then on friday we went on exchanges again and this time i was with Elder Johns he is the zone leader and he is from seattle. he wouldn't let me speak in english unless i really didn't know the word in spanish. that really helped me because that boosted my confindence and i was able to realize how much spanish i really do know and understand. yesterday we were in the ward mission meeting and two things happened. i was able to understand and i was able to answer a few questions. i felt great. it was like i was walking on clouds all day. and on thursday i had an interview with the mission president. don't worry i'm still worthy to be here. he just wanted to see how i was doiñg and how español is coming. and he said that i'm right where i need to be. so that helped me alot. on the 14th of sept. we have a baptism i'm so excited his name is israel. im pretty sure i have already told you about him. well that's all and i'm happy to have all of you as my friends and family.

hasta luego

My testimony in Spanish:
ok aquí es mí testimonio en español.
Se que esta iglesia es verdadera. se que el libro de mormón es verdadero. Jesucristo sufrió por nuestros pecados. se que fuimos enviados a este mundo con un propósito. este es una poco parte de mí testimonio. en el nombre de Jesucristo amén.

Sept 2, 2013

hey everyone i'm doing much better this week and i'm glad that you have prayed for me. this week we went on exchanges again and for lunch we didn't have tortillas and it's like i forgot how to eat it was crazy. so your rememember the investigator that i told you about (the one who prayed to prove us wrong but couldn't) yeah we haven't taught him yet. the first time we went to go teach him he couldn't because the rain so so hard that he had to go to work and clear the streets of water. the second time we went to go visit him wasn't there. so we are going to try again this week and i hope and pray that we get to teach him. do you remember our investigator Israel? well he is getting baptized on the 14th of sept im so excited my first baptism. we found a new family of investigators to teach and we are plannin on teaching them tomorrow night. i'm so happy. my spanish is coming along. not as fast as i want it to but it sure is coming. each day i can talk more and more. and understand a little bit more. durring our companionship study my trainer as me teach him diffrent lessons in spanish. he says i do a really good job and he wonders why i don't talk more. and i told him it's because i don't understand what they are saying. so he is going to try and translate all that he can for me. it wont be much olny because he doesn't know much but i know that it will be enough. i love you all and cant wait to hear from you next week.

con amor

these photos are from when me and Elder marin had little ceasers for lunch today

hey everyone,

I'm feeling much better today but i'm still a little under the weather. thank you all for the emails. it's so nice to come here and read everyones email and see that everyone is doing well. I cant believe how fast time is flying by. ive been in mexico for 4 weeks now and ive been on my mission for 2 months now!!! can you believe it! my spanish is getting better and better everyday. i'm speaking more in our lessons and i'm starting to understand just a little bit more in our lessons as well. when i first got to mexico i was really hoping for a trainer that spoke fulent english so that when i needed help i could ask him. looking back i'm so glad that it didn't happen. and this is the reason why. the whole zone went on splits this past thursday and friday, and we are doing them again in a week. with the same elders. and the elder that i was put on splits with spoke fluent english. he's name is elder manzano (which in spanish is apple, i thought that was pretty fun and he made a few jokes about it that i couldn't stop laughing about.) well anyway i noticed that having a comapion that spoke fluent spanish isn't a good idea. because i relied on him to translate everything. even the few things in spanish i did know. i thank the lord for the experince but i thank Him even more that elder manzano is not my comapion because i know if he was my compaion i wouldn't know half the spanish i do now. it's sometimes very hard to comunicate with elder Marin becasue he doens't speak very much english and i don't speak very spanish but we can usally get the message a cross. and i know that we can because the lord helps in all that he can. we found 3 new investigators and i can't wait to teach them again. one of them prayed to heavenly father to prove us wrong and when he couldnt he decided to listen to our lesson and we teach him againtomorrow. i can't wait to see the gospel take effect in his life it's going to be amazing watching the turn he will have. i love you all and i love reading your emails see you next week.

So i am actually in tampico city serving in a little area called nuevo progreso. I don´t really have problems sleeping other then the power went out on thursday night about 12 am and it was like 100 in our room. that is the only sleepless ive had my whole mission. yesterday (sunday) at lunch i was talking to the hermano that speaks english i believe his name is juan but i can´t remember for sure. anyway i was talking to him and he gave me so really good advice i don´t know how to show you guys over email so i will just wait until christmas to show you. (if i remember). mom will you please have the kids email me when they can and will you please send me more killer biotic, cfx, and mineral caps. i´m almost out and by the time they get to me i probally will be. and with spanish you know that you can´t speak spanish very well when the 2 year olds can speak better then you can. that´s so cool that the kids are all involved in something.. tonight we are teaching our only investagator Israel, the law of chasity. everybody else we teach are all inactive members and we try to reactivate them. which is way fun to get to know each indivual family. well that´t it for this week. love you all and i love reading your emails. have fun and talk to you next week.

August 12
HEY ALl how are you? i´m doing well and it´s so nice to read all of the emails. the apartment is small but it works for just me and my companion.  the food is amazing i was kinda hesitent of eating some of it because of the way it looked but i have found that the worse it looks the better it tastes. on tuesday we ate some type of soup that did not look so good but i didnt want them to feel bad so i ate it and it was amazing! i dont remember what i had on wednesday butthursday we had stuffed green chilles that didnt look to scrumpshis but that was probally the best food had all week. on friday through saturday we had chicken with rice. we have tortillas with every meal. if someone doesn´t have them it´s like they forget how to eat it´s crazy. i sit in every meal dead quiet trying to learn spanish. when they ask me personally a question i look at my companion and he usally does his best to answer for me.same thing with lessons we teach. but yesterday i didn´t because there is a hermano in my ward that speaks ENGLISH it was so nice to finaly understand what people are saying. i asked him if i could pay him to follow me around and translate. he said "no you need to let the lord be your transltor" and eversince i have always prayed to have the lord help me with the gift of tounges in lessons and i have learned so much more. today we had little caesars pizza and we went to the beach. i have pictures ill show you guys of my comapion and I, I can´t really comunicate that well because he doesn´t speak english and i can´t speak spanish but i am learning more and more everyday. i have gotten use to the heat now. and i lost some weight. when i left the mtc i could bearly fit in to my belt now i need to use the second hole in the belt. it´s crazy.  our ward is amazing we have 30 or so active members and even more that are either inacitve or nonmembers. the obispo is amazing and wants to help us the best he can. that´s so cool what tance and sawyer and xotchil did. i want to hear all the stories tell them to email me and i will read them next week. in mexico you dont knock on peoples doors you yell "buenas tardes!" so we came up to a mans house and yelled buenas tardes! we talked to him and as it turns out he was taking the lessons from the other missionaries before they we transfered. we taught him the second lesson and committed him to be baptized he said yes and we have a date of sept 14 i hope and pray that he keeps the commit. i feel like he will because he seemed really happen when he went to church with us yesterday. well that´s all i got. until next time
LOVE
